Maggie Fogarty
Executive Producer and Development

Maggie has over 18 years experience in national television production working as a senior producer and series producer for Central TV, the BBC, Channel Four News and other major broadcasters. She set up the independent TV company, BFM, in 1999 with solicitor Paul Bacon. The company has made documentaries and factual series for all the main terrestrial TV companies. Maggie has acted as executive producer on all of these including the 2005 RTS midland centre's (Best Independent Production for Television) for BFM's BBC1 documentary '30 Years On: The Birmingham Bombings'. Maggie has completed a documentary directing course at The National Film and Television School, Beaconsfield. Maggie is an occasional Visiting Editor at Staffordshire University’s BA and MA Broadcast Journalism courses. She has also been on a recent Royal Television Society judging panel.

David Jessel
Senior Editorial Adviser and non executive director

David Jessel is a distinguished writer and broadcaster, an RTS winner and a non executive director of BFM. He is frequently called upon to do scripts and voice-overs for major broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel Four and Five TV. David fronted the grounding-breaking series Rough Justice and regularly appears on BBC World's 'Hard Talk', a high profile interview series.

Sharon Bishop
Production Accountant and Company Secretary

Worked for Carlton for 7 years prior to moving into the Independent sector in 1997. Works for various Independent companies both in Birmingham and London on a freelance basis and has dealt with Broadcasters including BBC, Channel 4, channel 5, and ITV as well as BBC4 and Discovery Europe. Some projects have been co productions involving producing cost reports to the various funders.

Richard Lucas - Production Manager and assistant producer

With 15 years experience in television, Richard is a highly experienced Production Manager and Line Producer. Having worked for companies as established and diverse as Chrysalis TV, TWI, Carlton and BFM, he has gained expertise in many different genres including documentary, sport and light entertainment. He has successfully delivered programmes (often archive-heavy) on BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Richard is also a good Researcher and Assistant Producer

Paul Bacon
Director of BFM

Paul Bacon is a high profile Solicitor specialising in criminal and mental health law. His law practice based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and he is a member of the Law Society's Mental Health and Disability Committee. Paul has extensive television experience both as a frequent commentator on news and current affairs programmes and as a co-producer/writer. His TV work includes contributions for Panorama, Newsnight, Hearth of the Matter, Granada Tonight, Trial TV, Crimestalker and all the major news programmes. Paul has been involved in a number of high profile criminal cases that frequently make the national headlines.

Richard Jeffs
Business Affairs Advisor

Richard has spent thirty years in Broadcasting including time as Head Of Programme Services for Central TV in Birmingham, General Manager of their Russian Joint Venture the East West Creative Association and as International Business Affairs Executive for Action Time. Currently he has his own media business working with established producers, writers and Production Companies as a consultant and manager. Richard also works as a specialist media researcher and recently accepted an invitation to be visiting lecturer at the University of Central England's Technology Innovation Centre's MSc Digital Television course lecturing on the History of Broadcasting, Business Models, Territories and Export Initiatives and the International Television Market.

Sarah Rowlands
Senior Producer, Radio

Sarah Rowlands has extensive experience as a senior producer for BBC Radio 1, 2 and 4. Her freelance work has included ‘X Marks The Spot’ and ‘Book Of The Week’. Sarah has won 3 Sony Gold Awards, 4 Sony Silver Awards and a number of Medical Journalist Of The Year Awards. She is also co-author of the ‘Broadcast Journalism Handbook’ and has been Head of Journalism at Staffordshire University since 2005.
